STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Kathua of Bureau of Outreach and Communication, Ministry of Information Broadcasting, Govt. of India in close coordination and cooperation with Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, Municipal Committee, Bari Brahamana and other sister media organisations of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting viz: Doordarshan News, All India Radio and Song and Drama Wing, organised two awareness programmes cum cleanliness drives under the theme Swachh Bharat Mission ‘Shramdan Sunday’ in Doolian (Ward No. 9) and Bassi Kalan (Ward No. 7) of Bari Brahamana Municipality. On the occasion, a general cleanliness drive was conducted in both the wards with active coordination of local residents, staff members and officers of Municipal Committee and elected Municipal Counselors and chairman of Bari Brahmana Municipality during which the waste material of both the wards was collected and managed by using mobile waste bins. The cleanliness drive was attended by almost all the residents of both the wards including ladies, gents and youth with full enthusiasm, zeal and zest. Later, after the cleanliness drives in both the wards, theme based expert lectures and cultural items by registered cultural troupes of Song & Drama Wing of BOC were presented at Community Hall, Doolian and Govt. Primary School, Bassi Kalan respectively. N. Gulshan Raina, Publicity Officer, Field Outreach Bureau, Kathua advised the audience to make more use of Swachhta Mission and make their respective localities neat and clean K. K. Chalotra, Chief Executive Officer, Puran Chand, President, Municipal Committee, Bari Brahamana, Tarsem Lal, Ward Member, Ward No. 9 and Tarsem Lal Thappa, Ward Member, Ward No. 7 appreciated the efforts of FOB, Kathua.
