JAMMU: Rich tributes were paid to legendary singer of State, Vijay Malla on his fifth Death Anniversary at a function organized by Vomedh, Athrot, Harmony and Kashmir Performers Collective here at Abhinav Theatre on Thursday.
Prof Ashok Aima Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu, Rajesh Gupta MLA Jammu East and Girdhari Lal Raina, MLC graced the occasion. Renu Malla, wife of late Vijay Malla and his daughter were the Special Guests.
On the occasion, Vijay Malla was conferred with the Sangeet Samrath Samaan.
During the programme, a musical tribute mesmerized all under the guidance of Rishab Dorjey which included Bhajans, songs and Gazals sung by Vijay Malla.
Utsav Koul, Sumeeta Bhat, Sharad Pandita, Vishal Pandita, Shantanu, Barbie Stanzin, Pinah Kumari, Rishab Dorjey, Sunil Kumar and Saurabh Zadoo performed during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ashok Aima VC CUJ, appreciated the role of Athrot, Vomedh, Harmony and Kashmir Performers Collective for taking initiative to pay rich tributes in this excellent manner.
Kanwal Peshin, Manzoor Ah Mir, Romesh Zadoo, Rohit Bhat, Saurabh Zadoo, B.K Shair, Prof B.L Zutshi, Prof Virender Rawal, Bushan Lal Bhat, Kuldeep Raina, B.B Bhat, Swami Kumar, Advocate Ravinder Raina, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, M.K Yogi, Vinod Pandit, Subash Chatta, Prem Nath Shad, P.N Koul Sayil, B.L Deep, Pran Pandit, Aryan Ramesh, M.K Bhat, Kundan Paras, Vinay Raina and Aneel Hashia were also present.
The proceedings of the programme were compered by Kusum Tickoo and Kanwal Peshin.
