Three terrorists were killed in Tangdhar sector in Kupwara district, while two terrorists were killed in a gunfight as Army foiled another infiltration bid in Baramulla district.
Officials said that the infiltration bids from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were made in Rampur sector in Baramulla district and Tangdhar sector in Kupwara district.

Meanwhile, dozens of Pakistani terrorists are waiting to enter India from different areas along the border in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said on Monday.
Intelligence reports suggest Pakistani terrorists have stepped up infiltration bids over the past few months even as the Indian security forces have increased their vigil all along the Line of Control (LoC). GOC 19 Division Major General RP Kalita said on Monday that 60 to 70 terrorists are waiting to cross over to India from different ‘launch pads’ across the LoC.
He said the army is on alert, particularly along the stretch from Baramulla, Gulmarg to Naugam, as the terrorists are ‘ready’ to enter through this area.
“An infiltration bid was foiled today by alert soldiers along the LoC in Tangdhar sector in north Kashmir,” an Army official said.
An army official said the soldiers noticed some suspicious movement near the LoC and challenged the suspects.
“An exchange of fire took place between the sides,” he said, adding bodies of two militants were recovered during a search operation, which was continuing till last reports came in.
Two weapons were recovered from the scene of the gunbattle, he added.
Two policemen were injured in a grenade attack by militants on a nakka party in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Official sources said that militants hurled at grenade on a checkpoint established by police at Juhama in Baramulla at around 6.50 pm.
They said two policemen were injured in the attack, adding both were rushed to a hospital, where their health condition is stated to be stable.
They said the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness. However, a search operation has been launched in the area to nab the militants.
Meanwhile, A BSF jawan was injured in sniper firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in the Rajouri sector, officials said.
The incident occurred around 6:15 pm at a forward location, opposite Pakistan’s ‘Mohra’ post.
The jawan, constable S Ramachari, suffered injuries on his forearm and abdomen and was rushed to a nearby military hospital, they added.
