STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Farmers Training Centre, Jammu organised a training camp at village Tattapani of Rajouri District which was attended by a large number of farmers of Barmandal and Broh Panchayats. The programme was conducted under the directions and guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu P. S Rathore and Deputy Director Agriculture (Trainings) Jammu Sunil Koul. Speaking on the occasion Agriculture Information Officer, Jammu J. C. Raina asked the farmers to avail the benefits of Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Schemes to meet out the expenses to raise their agricultural crops. He advised the farmers to use the vermi-composting technology and go for round the year vegetable cultivation to get more returns and also to meet the daily diet deficiencies. Dr. Arvind Isher, Senior Scientist, I/c Krishi Vigyan Kendra Rajouri stressed on doubling farm income through diversification of agriculture, organic vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation and to reduce the cost of cultivation through various simple indigenous technologies. Rajiv Sharma, Subject Matter Specialist, Sub-Division Kalakote spoke in detail on the Integrated Pest & Weed Management of crops and rat control on the occasion. R. K. Mathu, Demonstrator (FTC) exhorted upon the farmers to avail the benefits of various farmers welfare schemes including Apiculture Development, Soil Health Cards Scheme (SCHS) and Sub-Mission on Machinery (SMAM). Representatives of the Panchayats, Progressive Farmers and Women Farmers of the Barmandal, Broh and Sooma areas participated in the programme. Revti Sharma, Agriculture Assistant, Mahesh Sharma, I/C AEO Sialsui, Narayan Choudhary, AEA Soom Panchayat and Anil Kumar Sadotra, AEA Broh Panchayat also attended the training camp. Small hand tools and literature on various schemes and programmes for the awareness of the farmers was also distributed on the occasion.
