STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Sukesh C Khajuria, a social activist, has appealed to Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan to expedite action on the complaint against Dr Farooq Abdullah, Member Parliament for seditious statements regarding Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Earlier, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has referred the complaint to the Committee on Petitions of Parliament. Khajuria, a former member of Prominent Citizen’s Advisory committee, requested the Speaker to take action against Farooq by disqualifying him from the membership of Lok Sabha. Khajuria, in a letter written to the Speaker, requested for taking up the issue on priority basis, as the term of present Lok Sabha will end soon. “I am not sure that the petition will be taken up by the Committee on Petitions within stipulated time. With expiry of present Lok Sabha, the petition will become redundant, ” he added. Earlier also, Khajuria had also sought action against Dr Farooq Abdullah from the State administration under Section 124-A of RPC (Sedition) and other relevant provisions of law but nothing was done on ground level. Khajuria has also written to President of India, Ram Nath Kovind seeking necessary action the Member of Parliament for making seditious statements.
