KATHUA: The Excise Department Jammu on Saturday destroyed 650 Kgs Lahan and recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor while conducting raids at Kathua District. On the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohammad Javed Khan and the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh, the excise team of Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta along with Inspector Excise Arun Kumar raided Chakdrabkhan, Jakhbar Dharma, Jaraie, Khokyal and Tarf Sanji areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process, one working still, more than 650 kilograms of Lahan and 15 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered by the raiding team from the State land.
The excise team destroyed the recovered Lahan on the spot.
