JAMMU: Excise Department on Saturday seized about 360 Kgs Bhukki in two separate consignments at Toll Post Lakhanpur.
According to reports, officials of Excise Department along with Police Department foiled two attempts of smuggling Bhukki out of the State by seizing two consignments of 60 kg and 300 kg at Lakhanpur. The aforesaid consignments were being consigned in vehicles bearing registration no PB-11-AF-8307 and PB-65-AS-2755 in the garb of garlic and empty vehicle respectively. Both the vehicles along with the contraband have been seized at Police Station, Lakhanpur for further investigations under the NDPS Act.
Both operations were conducted in a professional manner by separate teams of Excise Department officials comprising Excise Inspectors Khalid Manhas, Sanjeev Sen, Dheeraj Kumar and Narender Gupta, Excise Sub-Inspectors Sheikh Touseef, Kanwaljeet Shan and Vinay Kumar and Excise Guards Javed Iqbal and Shakeel Ahmad. The recovery was made under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer Abhishake Abrol and SHO Lakhanpur Sushil Sharma and under the direct supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post, Ashish Kumar Gupta and SSP Kathua Sridhar Patil.
Excise Commissioner, J&K, Talat Parvez Rohella lauded the efforts of teams of excise and police officials and enjoined them to work with same zeal and coordination and complimented the Toll Post officials for this extraordinary achievement.
