STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: As a social responsibility towards society, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, ex-SSP has urged the retired police fraternity to come forward as social volunteers in assisting the local police to aware the populace about adopting safety measures against coronavirus and to comply restrictive orders issued by the District Administration. Talking to media, Jamwal apprised that District SP has appreciated the retirees’ efforts to guide the people to stay at home and have wished well being of police retirees in their advancing age. Retired police personnel presence is felt in every ward, town, village and Panchayats and they have well knit social contacts betwixt local populace and police in their respective areas right from I/C PP, Police Station, Sub-Division and at the district headquarters. The retired police fraternity has been connected with ‘Udr Distt Police Retiree’ whatSapp group with addition of District SSP as well as SDPOs in the district. The retirees have been requested to maintain close liaison with populace in their area and what so ever problem faced by them and population of their area be posted on this group. The SSP and SDPOs personally monitor the group and immediately look for the problems for redress. On the occasion Jamwal assured the District SSP that retired police fraternity is always on the forefront as an assisting tool and look forward for any assignment by the police in this hour of the need and will come up to the expectations of the department and will carry forward the responsibilities being shouldered on retirees.
