JAMMU: Police on Wednesday arrested a drug peddler and recovered 20 Kg poppy straw from his possession.
According to report, Satwari Police during a Naka at Dharab Road near MBS College intercepted one oil tanker bearing registration No JKO2BG-0833 coming from Satwari towards Khwas Khan.
During checking, police recovered 20 poppy straw from the possession of driver of the oil tanker. The truck driver was identified as Harjeet Singh alias Reshu, son of Prithi Pal Singh, resident of Lower Gadi Garh. Accordingly, a case FIR No 113/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Satwari. The arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Manjeet Singh, SHO Satwari and SI Gurupal Singh under the supervision of SDPO City South, Rafiq Manhas and SP City South, Vinay Sharma.
