STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena on Wednesday staged protest against opposition parties, which are seeking verification of VVPAT slips of randomly-selected polling stations, before counting of votes in recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Led by Ashok Gupta, President Dogra Front and Shiv Sena, a number of activists assembled near Rani Park area of Jammu city and raised slogans against leaders of aforesaid opposition parties. Speaking on the occasion, Gupta expressed resentment against reckless and obnoxious claims of some opposition parties regarding functioning of EVMs and Election Commission. “These EVMs were working fine when Mamta Banerjee, Amarinder Singh and Arvind Kejriwal won elections and came to power but now, when there are possibilities that Modi with return back to power, these machines tuned faulty,” asserted Gupta, adding, “Nothing can be termed as more baseless or classless allegation than that made on functioning of EVMs by some political parties,” said Gupta condemning the highly strategised action of opposition parties. Others present in the protest included Bantu, Fauji, Daya Ram, Ram Krishan, Sham, Dinesh, Ajay, Kalu, Sanjeev, Ritesh and Abhishek.
