DODA: Government on Friday started much awaited regular chopper service between Jammu and Doda thereby fulfilling the long pending demand of the people of this mountainous district of Chenab valley for providing air connectivity.
According to reports, Pawan Hans Private Ltd has been selected for this service for which the expenditure will be shared by Ministry of Home Affairs, State Government and passengers. While MHA will share 80 per cent cost of the service, 10 per cent each will be shared by State Government and passengers.
MLA Doda said that in addition to Jammu-Doda route, the chopper will fly to different areas of Doda District including Bhadarwah.
He said that chopper will fly from Jammu towards Doda every morning and will return back to Jammu at around 4 PM every day. “During its stay at Doda , the chopper will fly to other routes of Doda District subject to the availability of passengers,” he added.
He said that in case number of passengers increased, the chopper will fly to and fro accordingly.
According to data, DC Doda will be nodal officer at Doda District and Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu will act as nodal officer at Jammu for ticketing.
