DODA: People of Bhadarwah and its adjoining areas have exhausted their patience with the hallow assurances from administration about the restoration of Doda-Bhadarwah Road as the road remained closed on seventh consecutive day.
There is great resentment among the people of Bhadarwah Valley and its adjoining areas as their only connection Bhadarwah-Doda Road with the rest of the country is closed for the last seven days. They have suffered huge business loss due to the road closure.
There is report from Senai, Bhalla (sliding area) that some people indulged into hot exchange of words with the GREF officials over the issue of non-restoration of Doda-Bhadarwah Road for the last seven days.
After the intervention of administration the people dispersed from the spot and situation remained under control.
Meanwhile OC 114 RCC(GREF) said ” We will allow the traffic by evening as we are trying to clear the debris on the road for one way traffic but it will take some more time to clear it for plying of normal traffic”.
SDM Bhadarwah Mohd Anwar Banday also visited the spot and discussed the situation with the GREF officials for early restoration of the road.
UDHAMPUR: Due to heavy rainfall during the night, landslides crippled vehicular movement on National Highway at village Kheri in Udhampur.
According to reports landslide partially blocked the National Highway which led to traffic jams on both ends of the road. Even as men and machinery were pressed into service for clearance of the road, traffic remained paralysed. However after hectic efforts by GREF, traffic movement was restored for normal traffic on the National Highway.
