STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Doctors Association Jammu on Monday protested at District Hospital Udhampur against VIP culture and illegal attachment of Dr Deepak, Consultant Paediatrics to Government Hospital Chenani. As per the case, Dr Deepak was asked telephonically by CMO Udhampur to attend the child of DC Udhampur at DC’s residence. Dr Deepak requested CMO to send child to hospital so that proper examination and investigations could be performed. Instead of sending the child to hospital like other patients as suggested by Dr Deepak, the CMO forced Dr Alok, Consultant Paediatrics to attend DC’s child at DC’s residence who went to attend the child at his residence. Consequently, Dr Deepak was harassed and posted for two days a week to Chenani Hospital by CMO. The Doctors Association Jammu protested against this illegal order and VIP culture and demanded immediate revocation of the order. After timely intervention of Director Health Services Jammu Dr Samir Matto the crisis in District Hospital came to end and order was revoked. Doctors Association Jammu appealed to Advisor K. Vijay Kumar and Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Atul Dulloo to intervene and issue an official order to stop VIP culture in Government Hospitals.
