STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: District Legal Services Authority in collaboration Education Department and Global Peace Organisation organised an anti-drug rally here today. The rally started from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi and culminated at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Reasi. A number of students from various government and private schools participated in the rally. Chairman District Legal Services Authority and Principal District Sessions Judge Kamlesh Pandita highlighted the role of parents and teachers in fighting drug menace in the society. Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib, also threw light on the subject saying that loneliness and lack of communication between youngsters and their family members is a major cause of inclination towards drug abuse. She announced establishment of a 24 hour counselling centre at District Hospital Reasi in which free counselling and medicines would be provided to victims of drug-abuse. Inviting the youngsters to indulge in co-curricular activities, the DC said that Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium is being renovated to facilitate youth as a healthy alternative to drugs and other social evils. Chief Education Officer, Mushtaq Ahmad, Secretary DLSA, Anjum Ara, members of Global Peace Organisation besides staff of various schools participated in the event.
