STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh sanctioned welfare relief for fifteen retired police personnel and NoKs of three deceased personnel in distress. An amount of Rs 2.97 lakh has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund to cater their expenses of urgent nature. As per PHQ order issued on March 14, 2019, welfare relief has been sanctioned for the personnel to meet expenses like self-treatment, treatment of spouse or children and education or marriage of daughters. The PHQ has been working for the welfare of retired police personnel and their families. ‘Martyrs/Retired Police Assistance Cells’ at all district and unit levels have been constituted to resolve the issues related to families of Police martyrs and retired Police personnel. This was in addition to the existing mechanism (Savera scheme) for assisting NoKs of martyrs and retired personnel to resolve their issues. Each Assistance Cell is supervised by a gazetted officer with one non-gazetted officer and two lower subordinates as members.
