JAMMU: DGP Prisons, Dilbag Singh on Tuesday reviewed the security scenario at District Jail Amphalla.
DGP Prisons made an intensive tour of the jail premises and inspected all apartments to get familiarised with the working and the security needs. He laid focus on the overall healthcare of prisoners and examined the cases of some of the old and infirm prisoners.
DIG, SSP and other jail officers and staff accompanied the DGP Prisons.
DGP Prisons also reviewed the skill development programmes being run in the jail which include house wiring, embroidery, tailoring, weaving, candle making, carpentry and beauty-saloon.
The DGP Prisons also visited the display outlet of prison products named as ‘Sudhar Bikri Kendra’ outside the District Jail, Amphalla and issued instructions for improvement in the products manufactured to compete with the market and make this outlet a quality name to be trusted upon by the public as a whole. He also emphasised to come up with new ideas for demand based products like shoe bags, laundry bags, Kashmir embroidery floor sheets to instill positive feeling in the public towards the inmates and the department in general.
DGP also asked the Superintendent Jail to start preparation of products to be displayed in the forthcoming Police Public Mela.
Chairing a meeting at district jail, the DGP discussed security concerns, precautionary measures and gadgetry needs and requirements for upgradation of security.
