SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra on Thursday ordered an inquiry on Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shakeel Beig’s pictures showing abuse of power. The photographs posted by the DIG’s son had spread like a viral and the most reputed national channels “ News X and Times Now” exhibited these photographs throughout on Wednesday.
The channels interviewed prominent politicians of the State, Centre, and many IPS officers besides other dignitaries. All this portrayed Jammu and Kashmir in a grim situatio, especially when the State has already earned the stigma of being second most corrupt state in the country. Peeved over this incident, the DGP has ordered an inquiry.
