JAMMU: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh on Sunday visited the Shri Mata Viashno Devi Narayana Hospital to enquire about the welfare of police officers and jawans who were injured in the encounter at Kakriyal a couple of days ago. He complemented the injured personnel for their bravery and assured all assistance will be provided. He impressed the hospital authorities to provide best health facilities to injured personnel.
Later the DGP visited the place of encounter and interacted with villagers and thanked them for their cooperation. He also met the police personnel and Jawans who fought in the operation in which three Jaish terrorists were killed.
The DGP informed that the Governor, Satya Pal Malik and Home Minister, Rajath Singh have praised police, army and CRPF for their contributions.
IGP Jammu, S.D Singh Jamwal ; DIG Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti; SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta; SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal and SP Katra, Naresh Singh briefed the DGP regarding the operation by the different parties.
While complimenting the officers and Jawans, DGP assured that they will be duly awarded.
