JAMMU: A series of deputations hailing from Nubra, Leh, Kargil, Chiktan, Hagnis and Kuksho on Thursday called on the Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali to apprise him about their grievances and problems being faced by them.
Minister for Public Works Naeem Akhtar, Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan and Member Parliament Mir Fayaz Ahmad were also present on the occasion.
The deputations informed the Chairman about their issues related to road connectivity, healthcare, sanitation and demanded development of cluster model villages, upgradation of educational institutions, construction of new Degree Colleges, construction of healthcare centres and Shakar-Chiktan Bridge.
The deputation from Chiktan, Hagnis and Kuksho sought construction of canal from Lehdoo to Dargo, Sports Stadium at Hagnis, motorable bridge at FosathangHagnis, completion of works on Namlingthan and Fosathang canals, upgradation of PMGSY roads, opening of new Anganwari centres at Nigrose and Pachari, besides construction of CHC Chiktan.
The Chairman discussed the issues with the concerned Ministers and assured the deputations of time bound redress of their demands.
