STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: S K Sharma, IRS Additional Commissioner Income Tax on Friday laid stress for depositing advance Income tax falling due on December 15, 2019. Speaking during a meeting held here at Chamber House, Sharma conveyed to the Chamber President, representatives of Chartered Accountants fraternity and other tax consultants that the Income Tax Department is keeping close watch on un-organised sectors and some professionals, who are evading payment of tax proportionate to their income. He requested to those present in the meeting to make one and all aware to deposit advance income tax proportionate to their income to avoid any action from department. He further said that payment of income tax is something which contributes towards nation building. Rakesh Gupta, JCCI President along with Secretary General, Manish Gupta and Secretary, Gaurav Gupta assured Income Tax Department of full cooperation as always and further assured the department that message from Chamber shall be flashed to all business association heads in various districts in Jammu province. The Chamber President also requested the Additional Commissioner Income Tax to take up the matter with CBDT and get last date for filing of Income Tax returns extended in J&K. He said that BSNL’s claimed connectivity of broadband connectivity across Jammu province is of very poor quality and people are feeling it hard to operate their systems smoothly.
