UDHAMPUR: Wrestler Nirmal of Master Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi clinched the 20th Annual Bhamag Kesari Dangal title defeating Mustba Kamal (Bablu) of Basantgarh in Udhampur in an easy bout that lasted for just nine minutes at Sardabbar, Kalsote (Moungri) in Udhampur.
Dangal was organisd by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Police Department, J&K Tourism Department, J&K Bank Moungri and Bhamag Dangal Committee. Minister of State for Finance, Ajay Nanda was Chief Guest, who witnessed the bouts and encouraged the young wrestlers.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Advocate Swantantar Dev Kotwal (Chairman Lord Shiva Parvati Caves Shrine (Moungri)), DySP Hemant Singh, Mela Officer Tehsildar, Amit Kumar Verma, BDO Suman Katal, Manager J&K Bank Moungri Vicky Magotra and Vice-President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.), Sukhdev Singh were Guests of Honour.
Prominent among those present were Mohan Lal Sharma, Om Parkash Magotra, Hans Raj Thakur, Chain Singh, Joginder Singh, Pawan Kumar, Channay Ram, Mubarik Singh, Virender Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Partap Krishan (Muna). Master Mulk Raj Bhamagi, Ajit Lal Sharma, Ashok Kumar Verma and Vinod Kumar.
In all, 25 bouts were played in the one day long famous and historic Dangal. Winner of main bout was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 while runner-up Mustafa Kamal got Rs 3,000.
The second main bout was won by Salman of Chopra Shop (Udhampur) who defeated Nitesh of Delhi while Sadiq of Domama Akhara bagged the third bout defeating Krishan of Delhi.
Fourth bout was won by Vijay of Bain Bajalta beating Govinda of Delhi.
Members of Bhamag Kesari Dangal Committee and technical officials who helped in conducting the wrestling event were Swantanter Dev Kotwal, Hans Raj Thakur, Jagdish Chander, Om Parkash Verma, Virender Badyal, Tulinder Kumar and Laxhman Dass Katoch.
