STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: With an objective to promote awareness in masses about ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ under ‘Noor Jevan Ka Betiyan’ campaign District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana felicitated mothers of newly born girls child on Friday at District Hospital Kishtwar. DDC congratulated the mothers of newly born girl child and their family members and felicitated them with baby kits and onspot birth certificates, as many as 10 mothers of newly born girl child were felicitated. While interacting with family members DDC stated that a daughter is not a burden, the girls are bringing pride and glory for our nation, and excelling in several fields and stressed on the importance of girls getting access to quality education, just like boys. He further appealed to all the parents of girl children to educate their daughters and provide them all possible facilities for pursuing higher education and never treat them with any ill feelings. He remarked that those parents who do not provide education to their daughters are her worst enemies. DDC informed that regular awareness camps under BBBP shall be organised throughout district. Those present during the occasion were Nodal Officer for BBBP, Anoop Kumar, CMO Kishtwar Dr. Abdul Majeed, Deputy CMO Dr. Yaqoob, Medical Supdtt. District Hospital Kishtwar, Dr.S.D Atri, besides others were present.
