STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Taking prompt action regarding the demand raised by the Sarpanchs and BDC Chairpersons of Kathua district before the Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh that they should be taken into confidence while considering road projects of their area, DDC, O P Bhagat today called on the Sarpanchs and BDC Chairpersons of Kathua to have an interaction with the Engineers of PMGSY, PWD (R&B) and JKPCC here at Kathua. DDC asked the BDC Chairpersons and Sarpanchs to prioritize road projects of their area as per the demand and requirement of the people. He also said that if they prioritize their projects properly then only it will get sufficient amount of funds till the execution of these projects. The BDC Chairpersons and Sarpanchs from Billawar, Basohli, Kathua and Hiranagar area raised several demands in front of the Engineers mainly related to road projects of their area including widening and repair of existing roads, forest clearance, bridges, cause ways and culverts and compensation related to the road projects. The Engineers on the occasion assured the meeting that the concerns of all the stakeholders will be taken into account while dealing with road projects of their area besides the construction of hampered roads will also be paced up. They also reassured the Sarpanchs and BDC Chairpersons that the pace of the ongoing projects will get increased in the coming time and every effort will be made to complete all the projects on time. Chief Engineer, PMGSY & PWD, Des Raj, SE PMGSY, Rajan Mengi, SE PWD, Jammu-Kathua Circle, Ravinder Mansotra, Engineers and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
