JAMMU: A Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Sindhu Sharma directed Senior Additional Advocate General H.A Siddiqui to file status report on submission of Revised Integrated Development Plan (RIDP) for Gharana wetland and steps taken by the Government for making functional the Sewage Treatment Plan and other directions as contained in order dated March 5, 2018 within a period of four weeks.
The court direction came in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed for preservation of Gharana wetland.
The DB observed that by virtue of order dated March 5, 2018, directions were issued inter alia to the respondents to submit RIDP with regard to the wetland of village Gharana and to take steps for functioning of the Sewage Treatment Plan.
Further direction was also issued to initiate proceedings in land acquisition of land measuring 408 Kanals approximately for enhancing the wetland.
DB also granted four weeks time to Senior Additional Advocate General S.S Nanda, who is appearing on behalf of revenue department, to submit the status report with regard to the steps taken for acquisition of land within four weeks.
