JAMMU: A Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur on Monday directed Registrar General to prepare a proposal for release of funds by the Government for maintenance and the cleaning work of the High Court Complex, based on the estimate submitted by S.S Nanda (on behalf of the Jammu Municipal Corporation), the summary of which is recorded in the order dated December 29, 2017 and the same be presented to the Government for sanction and once it is done, the tendering process can be initiated.
The court directions came in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Summit Nayyar seeking security of Court Complex and cleaning and sanitation work for the entire High Court Complex as well as the District Court Complex.
Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal Ganai with Senior AAGs SS Nanda and WS Nargal appeared for the State.
The DB also directed to file appropriate affidavits indicating the status of the proposals regarding wall-fencing, lighting system, fire safety measures, issuance of smart cards to registered visitors, multiple gates in Court Complex, Gate Pass System and X-ray baggage scanner.
