JAMMU: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Y.P Kotwal on Friday awarded ten years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and a of fine Rs 50,000 who committed rape on a 75 years old woman.
According to the police, the accused on 28th May 28, 2011 finding the prosecutrix who hails from Bihar was separated from the family at the Railway Station, Jammu had sought help from the accused. On the pretext of tracing her family members, who had comeback from a pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi, he took her to a secluded place and outraged her modesty. On this police registered a case and presented Challan.
Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Y.P Kotwal after hearing both the sides observed that the accused had committed a heinous crime and awarded ten years RI and fine Rs 50,000 and also directed that the whole of the fine be paid to prosecutrix as compensation. JNF
