RAJOURI: District Election Cell (DEC) Rajouri has sought full cooperation of political parties for preparing error free electoral rolls.
Speaking at a meeting of political representatives, , Deputy District Election Officer Shrikant Suse called upon political parties to actively participate in ongoing process of Special Summary Revision-2018 and Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision Drive-2017 for preparing error free Electoral Rolls.
The meeting was held to apprise the representatives of recognized political parties about the ongoing drive for revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls and the Special Summary Revision.
It was given out in the meeting that special camps for revision of Panchayat Voters will be held on October 8 and October 11, 2017 followed by joint camps for Panchayat and SSR-2018 on Oct 14 and October 21, 2017.
While handing over the complete set of electoral rolls of various assembly constituencies to the concerned, the Dy. DEO asked representatives of political parties to sensitize the voters about camps to be held for enrolment of new voters, deletion of duplicates, transposition and correction.
He further informed that the Panchayat voter list will be displayed at respective Panchayat ghars and polling stations for public information and to receive claims and objections.
The meeting was attended by Sain Abdul Rashid (INC), Dinesh Sharma (BJP),Shafayat Ahmad Khan (NC), Mohd Rafi (BSP), Zubair Ahmad and Mohd Iqbal Shah (PDP) and Mohd Shafi (NC).
Similar meeting was also held at Sub-Division Sunderbani.
