R S PURA: Ch. Mohan Singh, Sr. Congress Leader, Suchetgarh staged a protest against the PWD at R. S Pura demanding construction of R. S. Pura Suchetgarh Road. A large number of people and Congress workers from different villages like Suchetgarh, Flora, Mottey, Dher, Kang, Basti Gulag Garh, Abdal, Tohana Tibba, Kaloyein took part in the protest. While addressing the protesters, Ch. Mohan Singh said that the R.S. Pura-Suchetgarh Road is in such a pathetic condition that it has become headache for the people of the aforementioned villages. He said that this road leads to at least 15-20 Border Villages. At the time of Cross Border shelling it is the only road for the rescue of people as well as for the movement of Army and BSF vehicles. As the road is in dilapidated condition, border dwellers are always at risk of losing their precious lives. He blamed that previous BJP-PDP Govt has done nothing for people of Suchetgarh and it was running only on Papers and produced nothing on ground. Later protesters presented a memorandum to the SDM R.S. Pura Naresh Kumar Sharma. SDM R.S. Pura took up the demand of protesters with Executive Engineer, PWD who responded by saying that the construction work of the said road will be started by 1st week of September 2018.
Others who took part in the protest were Ex Naib Sarpanch Girdhari Lal, Numberdar Beli Ram, Numberdar Yash Pal, Capt. Roop Lal, Ex Ranger Madan Lal Sharma, Pritam Chand, Gurdyal Singh, Chamel Singh, Surinder Choudhary, Rajinder Bhagat, Master Mohinder Singh, Pooran Singh Chib, Captain Girdhari Lal, Ch. Krishan Lal, Ch. Mohan Lal, Gara Fouji and Bhupinder Singh Babba.
