STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday accused Congress and National Conference (NC) of celebrating China’s Veto against India, which, he said, is yet another evidence of their degradation to the lowest levels of political ethics in blatant race for electoral benefits. Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a party meeting here, Dr Jitendra Singh said, one would have tempted to believe that, following Jawaharlal Nehru’s “Hindi – Chini Bhai Bhai” debacle, culminating in India’s humiliating defeat in 1962 war, the Congress Party would have learnt lessons. However, over half-a-century later, it is yet once again proven that the misconceived notions continue to prevail on the Congress leadership’s mindset. Similarly, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the National Conference Vice President’s cryptic, back-handed Tweets smack of perversion which is often the result of frustrated political ambitions. From being apologetic to Kashmir separatists, terrorists and even hostile terror outfits like Jaish-e-Muhammad, the NC leadership is now stooped down to draw a sadist pleasure in India’s setback on international fora. Those who do not have the moral authority to out rightly name and shame Jaish-e-Muhammad and Pakistan for Pulwama attack, have no moral authority or propriety to post unsolicited comments about what happened at the UNO yesterday, he added. Dr Jitendra Singh claimed that China’s Veto at the UNO meet yesterday should be construed as a huge diplomatic victory for India and at the same time, a great success for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign outreach over the last five years. He said, China today stands isolated in the world fora and even those countries which were earlier reluctant to take a stand against Beijing, are constrained to distance themselves from it. It is now more than evident, Dr Jitendra Singh said, that China and Pakistan, both, have a vested interest in continuance of terrorism in India, particularly Kashmir. If, even now, this not is an eye-opener for some of the apologists back home, it is for the people of India to decide about their fate.
