STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: A deputation of the Jawahar Nagar Ward No. 5 Udhampur under the leadership of senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra met Executive Engineer PHE Department Udhampur on Tuesday. Deputation appraised the officer that PHE department is not supplying regular potable water to the people and if is supplied, it is full of dirt and contaminated. Highlighting the water crises issue Magotra said that people of Udhampur District are already facing acute scarcity of drinking water and if water being supplied is polluted and full of dirt sledge because of broken main supply pipes. He said several times particular problem already been brought into the knowledge of concerned authorities of the department but it is unfortunate authorities concerned have taken this problem very lightly. He demanded to replace damaged pipes with new one. He also brought working style of department that a labour has taken a legal connection from the department ten months ago by furnishing all required formalities and he was given connection from a line which is coming from a drain with a broken main supply pipe and receiving polluted water. XEN assured the deputation that broken and pipes are being replaced with in a short period and the problem of this consumer will be tackled on priority.
