BANIHAL: Workers of Indian National Congress of Ramban led by Ex. MLA, Ramban, Ashok Kumar Dogra on Saturday staged a protest at Maitra and reached the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban in a procession where they held a peaceful protest demonstration.
They protested against the alleged anti-people especially anti-Jammu policies of the PDP-BJP Coalition Government and decried the mis-governance and hoodwinking attitude of the State Government.
The protesters raised slogans against Mufti Mohd. Syeed and his Cabinet colleagues and demanded the early fulfillment of their pre-poll promises.
They demanded the establishment of Kendriya Vidyalaya at the District Headquarter, Ramban instead of Gool as decided recently in the District Development Board meeting ; early payment of salaries, arrears and GP fund to the employees ; pending payment to the contractors ; issue of ration and extra sugar to the rationees especially in remote hilly areas before Eid ; speedy resumption of stalled works under PMGSY, SSA,RMSA, MGNREGA and other flagship programmes started by the UPA government.
They stressed on the early establishment of AIIMS in Jammu and two year BEd course.
They also handed over a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Dr. Tahir Firdous on behalf of the DC, Ramban, Syed Farooq Ahmed Shah Bukhari.
Ashok was accompanied by Arun Singh Raju-District Congress President,Mohd. Farooq Katoch-Working Preaident,Narinder Kour-District Congress President (Women wing), Rashid Malik-State Youth Cong. Vice President,Block Presidents-Chunilal Goswami and Farooq Choudhary.
