JAMMU: Commissioner /Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, J&K, Abdul Majid Bhat, on Thursday visited the Office of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu and held a detailed discussion with office bearers.
President of the Association, Senior Advocate B.S Slathia projected various problems being confronted by the association including the requirement of library to the newly enrolled young lawyers who are at the threshold of their professional career, besides the conversion of sheds, opposite to the lawyers canteen in District Court complex and for providing Bar Room facility to the members of the Association.
Slathia also recalled the helping hand extended by the Law Secretary in expediting the release of an amount of Rs. 1 crore as announced by the then Law Minister in June 2017.
The Law Secretary after due deliberations assured that he will take-up the matter with the concerned higher authorities and will ensure that the genuine demands of the association are fulfilled at the earliest.
Among others present in the meeting were Sachin Gupta, Vice President, Prem Sadotra, General Secretary, Himanshu Sharma, Joint Secretary, Chetan Misri, Treasurer, Villy Koul, Director Litigation, Jammu, Munish Gupta and Rohini Gupta.
