JAMMU: On the call of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association, the clerical cadre observed complete pen down strike, across the State on second consecutive day on Wednesday.
At Jammu city, the demonstration was held near Press Club which was addressed by Babu Hussain Malik, President Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association.
He appealed to the State Government to implement the principally agreed demands for removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre by granting the pay scale of Rs 4,000-6,000 to Junior Assistant, Rs.4,500-7,000 to Senior Assistant, and Rs 5,500-9,000 to Head Assistant, notionally with effect from 1st January, 1996 and monetary with effect from 19th February, 2003.
In district headquarters, the Dharnas were held in front of respective District Development Commissioner’s office and memorandum regarding removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre were submitted to the concerned District Development Commi-ssioners led by Mohd Issa in Doda, Shahid Mir in Kishtwar, Babu Ram in Rajouri, Sunil Kumar in Reasi, Kuldeep Kumar in Kathua, Ravinder Singh in Poonch, Balwan Singh/Tarsem Lal in Samba, Mohd Aslam Parray in Ramban, Ashok Vir Singh in Udhampur, Tashi Choswal in Leh and Mukhtiar Khan in Kargil.
