STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Activists of Civil Society from Udhampur came on road against the apathetic attitude being adopted by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI ) towards Jammu region people. Civil society activists led by Abishek Sharma held a protest at Ban toll Plaza Jammu to show their resentment NHAI for exorbitantly increasing Toll Tax at Ban plaza and not exempting toll tax from private car drivers like Kashmir. Protestors carrying placards and banners, raised slogans against decision of hike in toll tax at Ban Toll Plaza and demanded justice for Udhampur-Reasi, Doda and Ramban and Jammu region affected people. Protestor urged Govt. to exempt toll tax from private car drivers since NHAI already charging very high toll from all types of commercial vehicles at ban toll. Coming heavily upon NHAI, Sharma said Udhampur and Reasi people are the worst sufferers while Governor Satya Paul Malik has announced to exempt private cars of Kashmir division to pay newly setup Toll plaza at Kachkoot in Srinagar. Sharma gave a deadline to Govt. and NHAI to declare exemption to private cars till coming week otherwise people will Gherao Toll Plaza for their genuine right.
