STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali on Monday convened a meeting of the representatives of Ladakh Hill Development Council Kargil/Leh including ex-CECs, representatives of all Principal Political parties including Ex-MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Kargil/Leh and representatives of all religious and Social Organizations of Kargil/Leh here to discuss the issues pertaining to Ladakh region particularly the issue of grant of Divisional status to Ladakh. The meeting was attended by Chering Dorjay, Member Legislative Council, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, ex-CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Rigzin Spalbar, ex-CEC, LAHDC, Leh, Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Qasimi, Representative, IKMT, Haji Mohammad Ali, Chairman, Anjuman-e-Ahle Sunnat, Kargil, Mohammad Ali Chandan, Councilor Shargole, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohsin Ali, Councilor Chiktan, LAHDC, Kargil, Stanzin Lakpa, Councilor Cha, LAHDC, Kargil, Padma, Dorjay, Councilor Minority, LAHDC, Kargil, Stanzin Chosgynt, Councilor Minority, LAHDC, Kargil, Padma Narboo, President BJP Bodhkarboo, Syed Ibrahim Shah, Anjuman-e-Inqilab-e-Mehdi (Surru), Stanzin Jigmat, Councilor Karcha, Zanskar, T Namgyal, ex-EC, T. Chothar, President ZBA, Zanaskar, Syed Mohammad Shah, President Sufi Noor Bakshi, Kargil, Ashraf Ali Barcha, President Anjuman-e-Imamia, Leh, Dr. Abdul Qayoom, President, Anjuman-e-Moinul Islam, Leh, Syed Abul Hassan, General Secretary, PDP Unit Kargil, Assadullah Munshi, Youth President, PDP, Kargil, Zakir Hussain, President Youth Action Committee, Kargil and Mohammad Hassan Hundurmani. All the participants expressed their views about the issues confronted by the people of the region. The participants unanimously agreed upon certain points regarding the proposed Divisional status. It was unanimously agreed that the division so created by the government shall have equal distribution of the infrastructure and staff at both places as per the convenience of the people of both the districts. In this regard, it was agreed upon that the participants of the meeting will submit a resolution to the government for their perusal with a view to avoid any discard between the regions of Kargil and Leh after accord of the said Divisional status. It was also decided that by virtue of the said resolution government will be requested to constitute the Inter District Advisory Council as provided under the provisions of the LAHDC Act so that the said Advisory Council with a representative character will deliberate upon the issues at a common platform and try to find out amicable solutions for the issues concerning both the districts. Chairman, LC implored upon the participants to carry forward this practice of assembly for the common cause of people of Ladakh region and requested all that they shall rise above the political, social and religious affiliations to unite the people of the region for common good and work for the upliftment of the region on the whole.
