STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: K.K Sharma, Advisor to Governor, honoured Janak Raj Angural Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank with an award for Outstanding Contribution towards Rural Development in J&K, in the State Credit seminar held here. K.K Balachandran, CGM, NABARD; Suresh Chand CGM, NABARD; Thomas Matthews ED, RBI; Parvez Ahmed Chairman and CEO J&K BANK; Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary, Government Department of Animal and Sheep Husbandry also graced the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Sharma appreciated the efforts of the bank for spreading financial literacy and awareness at nook and corner of the State. He cited that the bank has formed 500 JLGs, conducted 174 financial literacy programmes in FY 2017-18 and opened 2,854 NRLM accounts. CGM, NABARD, Balachandran and Suresh Chand appreciated the Bank’s performance in Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion activities throughout the state. Parvez Ahmed, Chairman, J&K Bank extended greetings to J&K Grameen Bank for being honoured for a commendable performance in Financial Inclusion activities. As a sponsor bank, he further impressed upon the bank representatives to target 100 per cent saturation of social security schemes in all the rural areas of the state. Janak Raj Angural, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank thanked for the honour conferred by NABARD, thereby, appreciating the efforts of Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion section of the bank. He further assured that the bank will continue on to play a major role towards development of the State and its populace in each aspect.
