STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: A businessman was murdered at Rehambal area over a dispute on Friday, however police has arrested the main accused. As per the details, Gulam Rasool Wani, a resident of Tethar in Banihal, went missing from Jungle Gali area of Katra in Reasi on July 11, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Banihal, Zameer Ahmed said. During investigation, police received his body in Tikri area and registered a murder case. During investigation, police detained a man namely Ashiq Ali Gujjar who confessed his crime. During interrogation, accused told police that he killed Ghulam Rasool over money issue. Later he along with his friend threw his body in forest area. Police has launched manhunt to nab the other accused.
Earlier family members of deceased and locals demanding to know the whereabouts of Rasool blocked the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Ramban’s Banihal belt and staged protest.
The blockade was lifted after administration’s assurance that the matter will be probed. The SDM ordered to set up a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Banihal, Sajad Sarwar. Late, the body of deceased was found at Rehambal area.
