Bus Stand shopkeepers taking out protest rally.

JAMMU: Protesting against the anti-encroachment drive by Jammu Development Authority (JDA), the shopkeepers at Bus Stand on Thursday observed a complete shutdown and demanded action against the JDA officials.
The shopkeepers took out a rally against the anti encroachment drive conducted by the JDA.
“The irate shopkeepers alleged that without prior notice, the JDA team assisted by the police demolished sheds causing losses to the business community,” said one of protesting shopkeepers. He further said the Enforcement Wing of JDA has not given them any time to remove these sheds.
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, Rakesh Gupta along with the other office bearers Rajeev Gupta and Gaurav Gupta accompanied by the Bus Stand traders called upon the Divisional Commissioner, M.K Bhandari to complain against the working of JDA.
During the meeting, the IGP S.D Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and the VC JDA were also present.
The CCI President demanded high level inquiry into the incident of the brutal action of the JDA and stone pelting by the JDA staff resulting into injuries to the shopkeepers and even the SHO.
The Divisional Commissioner ordered an inquiry into the incident and asked for the report to be submitted within three days after which the CCI will submit their demands of action against the JDA officials.
