STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Gandhi Nagar Police busted a gang of burglars and arrested three burglars, recovering stolen goods worth Rs 14.5 lakh from their possession. Briefing media persons here on Wednesday, SP City (South) Vinay Kumar informed that following increase in theft cases, a team of Gandhi Nagar Police, led by Inspector Gurnam Singh Choudhary, SHO Gandhi Nagar Jammu under the supervision of SDPO City (South) Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani was constituted for apprehending culprits. “During interrogation, several youth were rounded-up for interrogation. After sustained questioning, accused namely Anil Singh, son of Prem Singh, resident of Sangad Ransoo, Reasi; Kuldeep Singh, son of Karnail Singh, resident of Bullion, Sunderbani and Sharon Singh alias Sunny, son of Satish, resident of Ward no 10 Rajouri confessed their involvement in the theft cases. The accused have been arrested vide FIR no 161/19 and 231/18 of Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu,” he informed. “About 24 Tolas of gold ornaments valuing about Rs 8.40 lakh were recovered from their possession in case vide FIR no 100/19 under Section 457/380 RPC of Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu,” he added. “Similarly, during sustained questioning of another accused namely Raj Kumar, son of Munshi Ram, resident of Dima Majalta (Udhampur), who was arrested in a case vide FIR no 165/19, four truck tyres along with rims valuing about Rs 1.40 lakh were recovered on his disclosure. In addition to it, a stolen Alto-K10 car bearing registration number JK02BW-1929, valuing about Rs 3.5 lakh, in a case vide FIR no 186/19 under Section 379 RPC of Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu was also recovered by the aforesaid team,” SP City South asserted.
