JAMMU: British International School, Sainik Colony celebrated the festival of Baisakhi with traditional fervour and gaiety.
The colours of Baisakhi and piousness of Ambedkar Jayanti were reflected in a special morning assembly. The school choir presented beautiful songs.
The vibrant songs made everyone dance on the beat. Students also spoke on the contributions of Dr. B.R Ambadker in creating a new India and his role as the ‘Father of Indian Constitution’.
The toddlers of the school also celebrated the day by performing various activities in their wing. Their teachers told them why and how we celebrate this festival of harvest.
In the primary classes, students were told about the origin and value of Baisakhi.
They learned about the process of harvesting. The Chairperson Gita Sharma asked the students to respect and celebrate all festivals with great enthusiasm and energy.
He also exhorted to promote harmony and brotherhood throughout the world.
