RAJOURI: The civil and police authorities of Rajouri district exhumed the body of a man who hailed from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Tuesday.
As per reports, the man was died last year and his body was exhumed today after more than six months at Kampla Mohra in Rajouri district. The officials present on the spot informed that the body of the PoK resident identified as Irshad Ahmad (age 30), son of Mohd Shabir of Kotli Gujjran was exhumed today following the magisterial orders. The family members of the deceased approached the authorities and demanded the remains of his body. The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, had ordered the exhumation. The orders followed after Pakistan army had taken up the matter with counterparts following which the legal process was initiated. Civil and police officials, including Tehsildar, Additional SP Nowshera, SHO concerned and a team of doctors were present on the spot when the body was exhumed.
The remains of body were handed over to army authorities for further transportation to his native village in PoK, the reports added. It is pertinent to mention here that on the intervening night of 22/23-07-2018 Irshad after intruding into the Indian side of Line Of Control (LoC) died due to electric shock at Sair in Nowshera sector. Later, he was buried at Kampla Mohr and a case FIR 147/18 under section 2/3 Egress & Ingress Movement Control Ordinance (E&IMCO) was registered in Police Station Nowshera.
