BILLAWAR: Former Minister and Senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that nobody is above Constitution and criticised BJP for interfering in the working of independent and other prestigious institutions of the country.
Addressing a public meet for facilitating newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs of Billawar Constituency along with party cadre, he said that BJP both at Centre and State level is trying to destablise the constitutional institutions of country such as State Assemblies and other prestigious institutions like ED, CBI, Judiciary and termed it as very unfortunate.
He said BJP Govt failed to deliver on the promises made by them during previous polls and in order to hide their failure and divert attention of common masses they are trying to interfere in independent constitutional institutions. He further said this only reflects the frustration and admission of BJP having lost the upcoming polls. He lambasted BJP for resorting to back door conspiracy to change some laws through single person which can be changed or passed only by 2/3 majority of Assembly. Manohar said if such a thing happens it will be termed as open murder of democracy.
He requested Governor to restrain and stop any such attempt by BJP and leave such issues to be decided by the next elected government.
Manohar also expressed heartfelt condolences and deep sorrow over the road accident involving 14 causalities and several injured when a bus plunged into gorge in Mandi Tehsil of Poonch district.
