JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir, celebrated Deepawali as ‘Ek Deep Shaheedon Ke Naam’ at its Party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar.
BJP State President Ravinder Raina (MLA), Union MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, BJP State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State General Secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, State Spokesperson and former Minister Priya Sethi and other senior leaders lighted earthen lamp in the memory of brave security persons who have sacrificed their lives in the honour of Bharat Mata.
While lighting the earthen lamp, Ravinder Raina said that Deepawali is one of the most sacred occasions observed by Hindus. He said that it marks the triumph of good over evil adding that whilst the Raja Rama Chandra returned to his hometown, the sacred city of Ayodhya after the defeat of demon king Ravana, the residents of Ayodhya lightened the entire pathway with lamps to greet their dear King. He said that on this holy day, we denounce the cowardly acts of Pakistan and its sponsored terrorists which takes lives of over countless citizens and brave army men.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while speaking on the occasion, said that just days before the motherland lost its two sons and BJP lost its dedicated soldiers.
He said that the loss will never be covered in the entire belt adding that being shell shocked by the incident, as a part of family, the party resolved that this Deepawali will be dedicated to every single person, be it civilian or army man. And we all have today lightened at least one lamp each to pray for those who sacrificed their today for our better tomorrow, he added.
Kavinder Gupta, while greeting all the party workers on the occasion, said that among the festivities the occasion teaches us how to be strong willed to fight for the right cause. He said that God Shree Ram is referred to as “Maryada Purushottam” as He teaches the right way to live and fight the wrongs.
Rajeev Charak, Ajay Pargal, Chander Mohan Gupta, Naresh Dogra, S. Varinderjit Singh, Tilak Raj Gupta, Jaidev Rajwal, Arvind Gupta, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, N.D. Rajwal, Parneesh Mahajan, Anuradha Charak, K.S. Bhatti, Hari Om Sharma, were among the prominent BJP leaders present on the occasion.
Bharatiya Janata Party, District Jammu West also observed ‘Ek Deep Shaheedon Ke Naam’ to pay homage to the Martyrs at Pt Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan, Kachi Chawni.
Former Cabinet Minister Sat Sharma (MLA) along with District President Ayodhya Gupta, State Secretary Praduman Singh, State Media Incharge and State Press Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, District General Secretary (Org.) Mohan Singh Rana addressed and greeted the BJP leaders and common masses, while lighting the lamp in the memory of martyrs. Later, all the BJP leaders present on the occasion lightened earthen lamps and remembered and prayed for the brave army jawans who sacrificed their lives for Bharat Mata.
Jeet Angral, Balwan Singh, Munish Khajuria, Puneet Mahajan, Sanjeev Sharma, Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Akshay Sharma, Dr. Dineshwar Sharma, Kuldeep Mahajan, Veena Gupta, Raveesh Mengi, Ravi Kumar and Vansh Mahajan were also present occasion.
