STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: With BJP leadership surrendering, in quick succession, over not only its core fundamentals but also on the issues of security of State and Jammu’s interests, the people’s distrust in the Saffron Party had exacerbated with each passing today. This was observed by Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, while addressing a meeting of Panthers Party workers including the newly inducted members into the party fold, here on Tuesday. He said that having failed to abolish the Lakhanpur Toll Plaza, the BJP offended the trading community which once formed its basic strength. He said that earlier the traders had expressed reservations over pre-mature implementation of GST with infrastructural deficiencies creating severe problems in transacting business in terms of newly proposed policy which too had been ignored by BJP. And now while retaining the Lakhanpur Toll Plaza, the traders were being only subjected to double taxation in violation of the policy of “one nation one tax”, rued Harsh. He maintained that after having abandoned the slogan of one nation one flag, the Jammu BJP had dis-regarded its earlier nationwide clamour on “one nation one tax” issue also. He regretted that the apathy of the mandated leaders had forced the traders to knock the doors of court for justice. Pointing towards the successive surrenders of saffron leaders over the Jammu related issues, Singh said that unemployed youth of the region had been the major causality of BJP’s power politics. He said that with Jammu’s share in employment having reached a new low, the BJP had earned the most ignominious notoriety of bias against its own electorates. Only recently it’s Ministers had caused the greatest dis-appointment to the Jammu people by failing to declare September 23, the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh as state Holiday despite its loud proclamations. Likewise its double standards over Art 35A also invoked region wide condemnation, said Singh. The release of around 4500 stone pelters in Kashmir had also aroused similar passions amongst the Jammu people, added Harsh. He said that having failed to honour the sentiment of Jammu people, the BJP Ministers were acting as mere ornamental pieces in Mehbooba led Govt giving one surprise after the other to its electorates. He called upon the party rank and file to carry the message of the party to every nook and corner of the State. He vowed to carry forward the struggle of the party for establishment of an egalitarian system devoid of all bias and prejudice. On the occasion around 42 youth from Jammu joined JKNPP and offered full support to the party in its crusade for Justice to Jammu region.
