STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Various political organisations on Tuesday paid tributes to freedom fighter Ashfaqulla Khan on his birth anniversary here. BJP, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh led by its State General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi remembered the contributions of Khan. In this connection, Party’s Sanskritik Cell organized a programme, in which the senior leaders of the party enlightened the party activists about the life, works and ideology of the legendry freedom fighter Ashfaqulla Khan at Party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Sethi, while paying tributes, highlighted the freedom struggle of Ashfaqulla Khan in detail. Sanskritik Cell State Convenor, Bharat Bhushan Sharma gave details on the life, death and struggles of great freedom fighter. Veenu Khanna, Balbir Ram Rattan, Varinderjeet Singh, Charanjit Singh Khalsa former-MLC, Chairman Municipal Committee Baldev Singh Billawaria, Tilak Raj Gupta, Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Kulbhushan Mohtra, Akram Khan, Vinay Sharma, Narinder Singh, Bhupinder Singh Manhas, Honey Singh Mehar, Mohan Lal Sharma and others also paid tributes to the great freedom fighter on the occasion. Proceedings of the stage were conducted by Narinder Singh while vote of thanks was presented by Vinay Sharma. Meanwhile, J&K Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) remembered the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the motherland. A function was organised in the memory of Ashfaqulla Khan on his Birth Anniversary at its Head Office at Dogra Shourya Samarak, Amphalla Jammu by the Chairman of the Association, Ved Gandotra. Prof R.P Sharma (retd) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Floral tributes were paid to the great freedom fighter to remember him. The Chief Guest stressed upon the need for including the life history of the martyrs in the text books of the children for awakening patriotism among them from the very beginning. Ved Gandotra exhorted upon the youth to come forward to change the corrupt system in the country. The prominent persons present were R.C Puri, President of JKFFA, Th Karnail Chand, General Secretary; Rajinder Singh, Vice President; Brij Mehra, Vice President; Kamal Sharma, Vice President; J.J Singh, Secretary; Prof. S.S Bhalwal, Bharat Gandhi Ex MLA Ramban; S.R Rathore, Dr Yog Raj Padha and Satpal.
