STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: District Congress Committee, Jammu Rural said that the BJP Government failed to provide basic amenities like water, power and ration to common people of the State. While addressing a public meeting here on Sunday at Raipur Domana constituency, former Minister and Senior Congress leader, Mula Ram asserted that unprecedented shortage of basic amenities in Jammu highlighted apathy of previous BJP Government, which failed to address issues of people. He said that there is a strong resentment among people of Jammu district against previous Government as it has not fulfilled its promises made during Assembly elections. “The previous BJP Government failed to provide basic amenities to people of Nagrota Constituency. The common masses have been facing problems like acute shortage of drinking water, dilapidated condition of roads, ration scarcity, lack of healthcare facilities and many others,” he said. Hari Singh Chib, President DCC Rural lambasted BJP leaders for not showing concern towards plight of common masses. Hari Singh exhorted the party workers to reach out to people in every nook and corner of the State in order to make people aware about programmes and policies of Congress. He asked Congress workers to expose falsehood of BJP in Jammu region, which sought mandate on false promises and unachievable slogans besides divisive agenda. He further said that Congress, by way of its pro-people policies, is the only viable regional alternative for people of the State. He said that previous BJP regime has failed to do anything good for people of State except strengthening the instrument of oppression to unleash terror on them. Chib urged the Government to enhance ration-quota, sugar-quota, providing water tankers in Kandi areas of Jammu district besides providing fertilizers and seeds to farmers at subsidised rates.
