STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Senior Congress leader and ex-Deputy Chairman Legislative Council J&K, Arvinder Singh Micky visited Pouni and Bharakh areas of Reasi District for campaigning in favour of Congress candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency, Vikramaditya Singh. Flaying BJP for its failure to fulfill poll promises made with people, Micky said that only Congress can ensure development in the country and State. While addressing a public meeting, Micky said that the main agenda of Congress is overall devolvement of the area. He said that during Congress’ regime, Salal Hydro project and Rail-project were gifted to the nation by Congress. He also highlighted various efforts made by Dr Karan Singh for extending the railways to the holy town of Katra and finally to Kashmir, thereby extending benefit not only to locals only to entire country. Micky further said that Vikrarmaditya Singh is a bold and strong leader, who even resigned as Member Legislative Council for greater cause of Jammu region. BJP has created chaos and misunderstanding among masses, he added. “Not even a single promise made by BJP leaders during last five years has been fulfilled,” Micky said and recalled that during last Lok Sabha elections, people voted in favour of BJP but all commitments of BJP remained confined to papers only. Inspite of 25 MLAs from Jammu region, nothing was done for welfare of the region, he asserted. A number of Congress and National Conference leaders were present during the meeting, which included Gurmeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Mohan Singh (Retd Principal), Joginder Singh, Suraj Sharma, Capt Rashpal Singh, Tilak Raj, Vikramjeet Singh, Abhu Sharma, Koushalaya, Vimla Slathia and Bashir Mohammad, Ram Lal Sharma (NC Block President), Ranjeet Singh (NC Block Secretary), Kailash Raj, Surjeet Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sardar Mohammad, Abdul Rashid, Sarpanch Sonu, Panch Karamjit Singh, Kamal Singh and Joginder Singh.
