STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Former Minister and Senior Congress leader, Mula Ram condemned killing of a person in communally-sensitive Bhadarwah Valley and held BJP ex-MLAs responsible for repeated incidents of violence in Bhadarwah and Kishtwar region. In a meeting held here on Saturday, organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC), Jammu Rural, Mula Ram held BJP responsible for the incident. “Despite having four ex-MLAs and one Member Parliament from the region, the Saffron Party failed to secure lives of minority living in the region,” he alleged. Terming the killing as most unfortunate, the Congress leader asserted that there are some anti-national elements which are hell-bent to disturb communal harmony in the area. Mula Ram termed the incident as an attempt to revive terrorism in Chenab Valley and denounced the administration for its failure to solve previous murder cases in Kishtwar town. DCC President, Hari Singh Chib said that attacks on security forces, not only in Jammu & Kashmir but across the country, have increased manifold in past five years. Questioning policy of BJP Government on terrorism and Pakistan, he said that Modi Government failed on its policies ‘Zero Tolerance to Terrorism’ and ‘national security’. Chib mentioned that killings of political leaders and workers by terrorists has also increased since 2014. He said that BJP failed to provide stability to people of J&K on all fronts including political, economic and security. The DCC Jammu Rural urged upon the Governor’s administration to take necessary steps for ascertaining the identity of culprits, so as to ensure that peace was restored in Bhadarwah. He called upon the Government to take immediate and stern action to safeguard lives and properties of minority community. Chib appealed to people of Bhadarwah and Kishtwar for maintaining communal harmony at all costs in the larger interest of the area and not to fall into trap of some vested-interests, who want to fish in troubled water.
