STATE TIMES NEWS HIRANAGAR: Volleyball Club Bhaiya defeated Gurha Mundian Volleyball Club by 3-2 (25-21, 25-21, 21-25, 23-25, 15-13) and won Second Jai Maa Bhawani Open Volleyball Tournament organised by Volleyball Club Bhaiya, Hiranagar under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir at Government Middle School, Bhaiya, here on Sunday. A total of eight teams of district Kathua participated in the tournament. A K Katyal, an industrialist of Kathua, was the Chief Guest who distributed the prizes among the winner and runner-up teams. Speaking on the occasion, Katyal lauded the efforts of the club especially Deepak Sharma, organiser of the tournament, in promotion of volleyball game in the rural areas. The Chief Guest also gave away Rs 5,100 to Volleyball Club Bhaiya for encouragement of the players. Prominent persons present were M.L Toofan President District Volleyball Association, Mohinder Sharma General Secretary, Sudesh Kumar Sethu President BJP Kandi Mandal, Ram Lal, Ram Tirath Khajuria, Sushil Kumar, Shanti Swaroop Sharma and Arun Sharma (Nikka).
