state times news UDHAMPUR: Giving boost to burning issue of continuously being demanded to exempt Toll tax at Ban Plaza for Jammu region at par with Kashmir, business community of Udhampur held massive protest at general bus stand Udhampur. Members of Beopar Mandal Udhampur raised slogans against the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for exorbitantly increasing Toll Tax at Ban plaza. Later protestors also burnt the effigy of NHAI to show their anger. Protestors expressing their concern said why not Udhampur-Reasi rather Jammu region private car operators been exempted from Zaziya (toll Tax) like Kashmir which recently Governor had exempted at Kachkoot Toll Plaza Srinagar. President said team BMU already had submitted a memorandum to Project Director (PD) NHAI Jammu but till date no response was given by the PD. He said NHAI should not take for granted the people of Jammu region and should not test the patience of law abiding citizens. He said BMU shall constraint to launch massive stir against the NHAI if authority keep on ignoring the genuine demands of the Jammu region people. He threaten NHAI to get their decision back of increase ban Toll Tax otherwise people of Udhamour, Katra and Reasi shall be forced launch agitation against the NHAI and entire responsibility shall be fixed on Govt. and NHAI if situation took ugly turn. President Jatinder Kumar, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Kamal Gupta, Rahul Magotra, Naveen Kumar, Ankit Sanson and other shopkeepers of Udhampur were also present.
